Product Description
Carltsoe® Non-Sparking SAFETY TOOLS are recommended for use where hazardous, flammable or combustible vapors, liquids, dusts or residues are present and should be used by all industrial safety programs. Carltsoe® Non-Magnetic SAFETY TOOLS can be used around sensitive magnetic equipment, including scanners, de-mining and disarming. Carltsoe® Corrosion-Resistant SAFETY TOOLS are the ideal choice when working in marine and offshore environments. Corrosion and rust can be extremely dangerous in hazardous environments. Impacts involving rust can initiate a thermal reaction which can cause an ignition in an explosive atmosphere. It is important that the user of Carltsoe SAFETY TOOLS keeps the tools in clean working order. Like other personal protection equipment, it is each user’s duty to inspect the tools before use.
Those responsible for operating plants and processes where potentially explosive atmospheres exist should provide information to all who work on the site about the safe use of hand tools.
(*) Hand tools are not within the scope of European ATEX 94/9/EC (tools are not own source of ignition). Risks assessments must be made by the employer of the workers using hand tools (see EN 1127-1, EN 13463-1)
(**) DISCLAIMER: Final responsibility remains with the employer of the workers using hand tools, based on his risk assessments (EN 1127-1, EN 13463-1).
